Privacy and AI in Quebec

Quebec’s private-sector privacy law, modernized by Law 25, is the strictest in Canada. It requires privacy impact assessments before personal information is transferred outside Quebec, and it requires organizations to inform people when a decision about them is based exclusively on automated processing. AI projects in Quebec need these obligations designed in, not bolted on. Business communications and websites aimed at Quebec customers must also meet French-language requirements under the Charter of the French Language.

AI and automation in Quebec: common questions

Do you offer AI and automation consulting in Quebec?

Yes. We work with businesses and organizations across Quebec, including Montréal, Québec City, Laval, Gatineau. Most work is delivered remotely, with on-site visits for workshops and go-lives.

How much does AI consulting cost in Quebec?

Our AI Kickstart is a fixed $2,500 CAD for businesses up to 50 staff. Most single-workflow automations cost $5,000–$20,000, and most AI governance foundations $6,500–$20,000. Larger programs are quoted on scope, the same for clients in Quebec as anywhere in Canada.

What does Law 25 mean for using AI?

If an AI system makes a decision about a person exclusively through automated processing, you must tell them, and on request explain the information and factors used. Transfers of personal information outside Quebec require a privacy impact assessment. We build both into the design of any Quebec AI project.

Do you offer services in French?
